Mermaid song...

I once met a mermaid floating in the sea,She was beautiful and graceful,
But, I thought, much fatter than any mermaid should be,
I asked her if she was expecting,
She gurgled a sweet, soft laugh,
Then closed her eyes as if reflecting,
And sweetly sang to me…
I’m as deep as the vast oceans,
As mysterious as the blue of the sea,
I’ve a heart so big that even Jona’s harpoon,
Could not extract it from me.
When I laugh it’s like a sonar,
Touching all within my reach,
And I’ve an attitude to my life,
That’s as fun as running barefoot, in the rain, along a beach.

Picture
My body is a temple,
Of beautiful bulges along its shores,
It’s as sacred as the smallest life form,
Defying nature's survival laws.
So when you look at me as you do,
In some fairytale sailor’s way,
Do you forget why you exist?
Or how you’ve come to think this way?
It’s because you expect the world to be,
Exactly as you’ve been told,
And forget that beauty skin deep,
Hides the real you, that is more precious than gold…
Then the mermaid so wise and gentle, floating in the sea.
Kissed me soft and sweetly, before she swam away,
And the words she’d sang seeped through me, as I began to see
That beauty shines from within us each and every day.
And as the sun set gently,
I realised who I could be,
Now each day I sing soft and sweetly,
To my beautiful mermaid,
Floating through life's sea.

    About this blog

many roads...                           ...on the journey words follow me,                              push me forward,                  and sometimes, overtake me.

This is my attempt to map them, And navigate my way through meaning.
